Individuals who live with complex mental illnesses require a comprehensive approach to care and treatment.
To deliver effective support, we adopt a person-centred approach – including asset-based plans, trauma-informed support, reablement and evidence-based interventions.
As a forward-thinking organisation, we are fully up to date with current best practices, using enhanced technology and methods to evidence our outcomes. We constantly learn, adapt and consider ways to enhance and improve our services.
We strongly believe that everybody’s journey whilst within our services will be unique. This will be underpinned by the recovery model.
Client’s journeys can take as long as they need to achieve identified outcomes which are continually reviewed.
Progress is measured using the Outcomes Star which ensures that we are actively working towards continuous positive changes and people do not become ‘stuck’.
Our clients are active participants in their personal journeys, and we strongly encourage them to develop their own asset based care plans and risk assessments with support from staff which consider a positive future.
Recognising the impact of trauma on mental health, we integrate trauma-informed practices into our approach - creating safe environments, promoting trust and addressing underlying trauma through therapeutic interventions.
Additionally, we focus on reablement, helping individuals regain and enhance their skills and independence, with the goal of eventually stepping down into more independent environments.
We ensure our staff members receive formal training, workshops and have a wealth of experience in supporting individuals with complex mental illness. This expertise is evidenced through our quality assurance framework and measurable outcomes.
We provide specialist support for individuals with multiple disadvantages, including drug and alcohol dependency. Our in-house specialist support workers use evidenced-based models – such as The Cycle of Change – to help individuals address these challenges effectively.
We is proud to offer access to evidence-based interventions such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and group work, providing individuals with additional tools and support for managing their mental health.
We place a lot of emphasis on the importance of developing safe daily living skills, and social skills and experiences, that will contribute to overall well-being. We feel this holistic approach supports individuals in building fulfilling lives beyond managing their mental illness.
Our staff are skilled at developing trusting, boundaried relationships with individuals, striking the balance between nurturing and care, whilst also encouraging individuals to commit to change and try new ways of managing their mental health.
We have over 20 years’ experience of providing support for people with complex mental health needs. Our team includes a qualified counsellor, drug and alcohol specialists and mental health social worker.
We have an excellent working knowledge of the various, evidence-based interventions to achieve positive outcomes for our client group.
This includes using Positive Behaviour Support Planning to reduce behaviours of concern. The environmental checklist is used to ensure that the culture of the service is conducive to providing quality support from a skilled staff team.
We can offer a range of talking therapies. This includes Cognitive Behavioural therapy and Dialectical behavioural therapy which is delivered by our qualified trauma-based counsellor.
We have developed strong links with local mental health teams who support us to ensure that our clients have access to all aspects of support that they require.
