Staff Feedback

I have great team members which we work together as team diligently.

Amazing staff team at Stride, work really well together. Service user - staff interaction is on key and all staff work towards the same goal.

I've just started working for stride and feel that I am very supported by both the management and the team at stride and also the staff at head office and the directors of the company.

Our Feedback

I have always found the staff at Stride to be supportive and professional with the SCFT clients, some of whom have complex needs and can be very challenging. They try hard to maintain relationships with clients in the face of many difficulties including substance misuse.

The diligent team at The Stride consistently supports patients attending clinics by providing us with current information and maintaining clear lines of communication. This commitment promotes patient safety and enhances care planning for individuals.

I have been working with Stride for over two years through my advocacy role for several clients. Stride have consistently surpassed my expectations and have made a clear and tangible positive difference in the lives of people they support. It is evident that the staff team at Stride care for the well-being of their clients, and there is a real sense of Stride having a family atmosphere were successes and hurdles are felt by not only the individual but by their support team as well. My advocacy role for the three clients I have supported at Stride has now come to a conclusion; However, I leave feeling assured that Stride will continue to passionately advocate for each individual and each will be offered a high level of person-centred support to achieve their individual goals.

Feedback regarding the experience

A residential care home, during the process of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) assessment.

I have assessed a person (P) at Stride, whose needs are quite complex due to mental health issues, barriers to developing trust and communication needs. Reading completed assessments and reviews, I've noticed that during 21 months of support provided to P at Stride, there has been a significant improvement in P's presentation. I met the P who appeared feeling safe and relaxed at Stride. It takes a considerable amount of time and a consistent approach to make a difference and improve the P's wellbeing. I assessed the P in the meeting room where privacy and confidentiality were ensured as there was no distraction from the staff and other residents. At the end of my visit, I saw the P approaching me with ease in the Home Manager's presence. I felt that the P has experienced at Stride compassion, dignity, and respect from the Manager and staff members. The P has developed a good rapport with staff that indicates that the staff have a good understanding of the support the P requires. Care plan is person centred and reflects the P's needs. The staff empower the P to regain control of her life by, e.g. accepting treatment. I saw the evidence (photographs) of staff supporting the P to be socially included, to make choices and build self-esteem by being involved in various activities, for example, cooking, walking and fundraising for charities.

I'd like to commend Sam Noble, the Stride Manager as, without any delay, I have received all the information and documents I required to complete the DoLS assessment. Sam is a passionate professional, great communicator and clearly keen on working in partnership with others.

Probation Feedback

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Stride who have worked with and supported ***** in the last few weeks.

When I first met ***** following her court sentencing in February of this year, she was in a really bad way. She looked very vulnerable and spoke in a ‘childlike way’. I had been warned by the court reporting officer she would need lots of support and reassurance. It was clear ***** had suffered trauma, she was dishevelled and said she had not changed her clothes or had a shower since her incarceration. ***** struggled to focus in our first meeting and explained to us, ‘ I’m sorry I don’t always make sense, my brain does not connect together, I constantly feel like I am in a fish bowl’.

After changing into some new clothes she was given by ‘together women’ ***** agreed to meet with us again the following week. She did meet the following week , however she admitted she had returned to the property of ***** and had been drinking and taking substances. ***** quickly disengaged with all services and she was arrested for breach of her restraining order. (Description given that Stride have chosen not to share publicly for confidentiality and dignity reasons).

Whilst in custody, I was told she did not use the showers, she was struggling to manage herself (Again detail not provided publicly by Stride for protection of *****’s dignity).

Since her re-release she has been housed with yourselves, and whilst I had received updates from Stride, I had the opportunity to meet with ***** on 19th July 2024. When I met with her, ***** had greatly improved both in her appearance and demeanour. She looked a lot better, a lot healthier and she was wearing clean clothes. She smiled a lot and said she liked it at the Stride and after a while said ‘is that it now – can I get my coffee’, which was lovely to hear, as she was clearly very settled.

We had a professionals meeting yesterday about *****, and I have been updated on how well she is doing. She is now wearing spectacles, (After neglecting her health and DNA of appointments historically) washes her own clothing and enjoys baking. She chooses to go out without the staff and there have been no particular issues with alcohol or drug misuse. ***** is clearly making some very different lifestyle choices and this can only be down to the care and support she is receiving from you all.

Everyone who has met ***** in the last few months have all been taken by her, she is very caring and likeable and people have asked after her. So, it is a real pleasure to say she is looking and doing well, and that is down to you all.

So, on behalf of *****, my colleagues and myself, I just want to say a big thank you, as all you do really matters and makes a difference.
